Grotto World Tour (of the Midwest)

HairlesssNake was initially born from the Grotto World Tour (of the Midwest). In Spring 2016, KP was awarded a stipend to visit the various grottos, shrines, and folk art sites of the American Midwest. The trip was awarded as a means of continuing his work creating conceptual and documentarian recordings of the sounds of religious spaces and the sounds of prayer.

This trip was made possible through the Roads Scholarship for Research and Travel, awarded through the Better Homes & Gardens: Vernacular Art Environments art history course, held at the Roger Brown Study Collection, a home museum and special collections site of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
